River Invertebrates Classification Tool is a software application that allows the Environment agencies to determine the ecology classification of water bodies throughout the UK.
The software makes use of Oracle, XML, Web services, CSS, RSS and custom stastistical functions implemented in Oracle and ported from Insightful S+.

RICT Run Menu
Raw river data sets collected by ecologists are uploaded to the system and processed using the RICT algorithms. The software stores previous runs on the front page so users can get access to historic run data.
Outputs from the system include KML and GML files; ideal for mapping using google maps or google earth. In RICT, the Google Earth control is built in, allowing users to seemlessly map their data over thelandscape and generate fly-thoughs of the rivers network ecological status.
